Alton Lions (CIO) are currently distributing Easter Eggs to local pubs and other outlets as part of their annual Eggstravaganza. Designed to raise funds for Bushy Leaze Children and Families Centre, the Eggstravaganza invites folk to pay a pound to pick the name a cuddly toy lion.
Each outlet has a board with 100 names on it and the player with the winning name receives a giant Easter egg. Over the years the initiative has raised many thousands of pounds for Bushy Leaze which has been supporting families from Alton and the surrounding areas, with children aged from 0 to 5 years, for more than 20 years.
Based in Eastbrooke Road, Bushy Leaze offers a range of services and facilities for families and children, from the early stages of pregnancy to when the child starts school. These include a maintained nursery school with a specialism in special educational needs (SEN), family support and outreach services.
Lions eggs can be found in pubs and other outlets in Alton and the surrounding villages.
